Can I know what AutoCAD application is suitable for a geoscientist or Mining Engineer who has not got started with any AutoCAD application at all and will like to learn AutoCAD in relation to the Gescience/Mining sector.

It might be suitable with some sort of add-on program.  You'll be working strictly in 3D right?

Thank you John, I will be doing 3D like you had rightly stated. Kindly confirm to me what add-ons are applicable or you are familiar with.

There is one add-on I know of called Mapworks Mining for AutoCAD available from DotSoft.http://www.dotsoft.com/mwmining.htmThere is also Carlson Mining 2012.http://carlsonsw.com/PL_CS_Mining.htmlAnd one last product called PROMINE.http://www.promine.com/No, I do not have any experience with these programs.  Your best bet is to request a free trial and see what each can do to meet your needs.  Good luck.
