My model and layout tabs have disappeared but are still checked to display in my options. Help?

Here you go:

1. Enter the command OPTIONS
2. Click on the DISPLAY tab
3. In the bottom-left area, make sure the "Display Layout and Model Tabs" check box is checked on

Yea that's what I meant by it was still checked in my options. They were still off. They came back eventually but I'm still clueless as to what happened.

 Hi

Below the white window command:   you have snap ,grid otrho, polar , snap, otrack, duks, Dyn.... right click on the last button it looks like three black triangle, right click and there is an option "layout"
