AutoCAD LT - unlike the full AutoCAD with its GROUP command - contains simplified versions of commands for manipulating object groups - PKFSTGROUP and QKUNGROUP.

Many users are satisfied with these quick and simple versions of the group commands and the full dialog-based command GROUP slows them down. In addition, for ungrouping you have to specify the name of a group.

So we have prepared a free LISP utility GRP.vlx with the commands GRP and UNGRP. It can be used as a replacement of AutoCAD LT's group commands. You can use CUI to assign the GRP and UNGRP commands to keyboard shortcuts (recommended: Ctrl+Shift+G and Ctrl+Shift+U), or add them to your shortcut menu (context). Then just mouse-select any objects and press Ctrl+Shift+G -- they will be grouped. Or select a group, press Ctrl+Shift+U, and the group will be scattered again into the individual entities.

Both commands accept also pre-selected objects (grip-selection). They use unnamed groups.

You can download the GRP utility from Download - load it (permanently) using the briefcase in the APPLOAD command.
