My Inventor 2013, 2012 or 2011 does not work after upgrade to Windows 8.1

Only Inventor 2014 (and higher) is compatible with Windows 8 and especially with Windows 8.1. Apply the Service Pack 1 plus current hotfixes for Inventor 2014 to resolve any problems in Win8.1.

If you cannot run Inventor 2013 after the upgrade to Windows 8.1, apply "Update 3 for Inventor 2013 Service Pack 2". If you really want to run also Inventor 2013 in Win8.1, first apply its SP2 and then the "Update 3", which can be downloaded from DL22436649 (does not add full compatibility).

Similarly you can apply the following Win8.1 hotfixes for Inventor 2012 (DL22506876) and Inventor 2011 (DL22541232).
